Travel: Amontay Beach Resort

January 1, 2016 by Meljoie Pepito Leave a Comment

After the wedding of our CFO in Cagayan De Oro City, we decided to spend the night and go swimming at Amontay Beach Resort.  This resort is located on the Purok 3, Nasipit, Agusan del Norte.  You can take the Butuan-Cagayan Bus from Butuan City Bus Station or you can take a passenger van going to the same direction.  If you are traveling in a group, you could arrange the resort to pick you up on their resort bus.

Amontay Beach Resort is good for family time because it has a good size swimming pool for adults as well for children.  The beach

ACCOMMODATION

Since traveling is mostly tiresome, my wife and I are very particular with the accommodation. The resort has accommodation for those who wanted to stay overnight for a very reasonable price.  It has a bay view rooms, poolside rooms, dorm type, and Bali Inspired Cabana.  We did not have the time to check all the rooms except the matrimonial room.  It has a good sized bed for two and still big enough for a child that still sleeps with their parents, an additional bed is also available for request with a minimal charge.

Room

The Matrimonial room has a separate bathroom and comfort room, a good place to hang your clothes, bathroom towel, soap, and shampoo for two.  Air condition, a good size TV, personal refrigerator, an average speed Internet connection through wifi (although some rooms have weak signals).

Food

The resort has good list of food.  I am particular with food because I am a Seventh-day Adventist and I follow the list of food that are clean to eat.  I am happy that the restaurant served food that is allowed for Adventist Christians and so with our Muslim.

ACTIVITIES IN THE RESORT

There are many things that you can do in this resort for a reasonable price.

  • Jet Ski
  • Banana Boat
  • Wake Board
  • Double Kayak
  • Aqua Bike
  • Beach Volleyball

MY TAKE

Here is my breakdown of my rate to Amontay Resort.

Room:  2.5  – This could probably higher if not during peak season.   They have a lot of visitors and I noticed that they only have few working crews.  Our room is not that clean, it lacks one soap (suppose to be two), and someone forgot to put the garbage bin back in the room.  On the positive side, the room has beautiful design, wifi, cable TV.

Pool:  3 – Pool is clean.  It has a separate pool for children.  It has a bar and party lights in the evening.  I could probably rank it higher if they have slides in the adult pool.

Beach Side:  3.5 – The beach resort is beautiful and the place where they built the Cabana and the cottages are well shade and cool because of the trees.

Services:  3 – I ranked their services to a 3.

All in all I give Amontay Beach a 3 on a scale of 1-5 where 5 is the highest.

Our family experience in Amontay Beach Resort is awesome and we would still love to go back to Amontay Beach Resort for an overnight stay or a day swimming activity.  How’s your experience in Amontay Beach Resort?  Do you have any suggestions? Share what you think about Amontay Beach Resort below.
