The Road to Kahayag SDA Church

Kahayag Seventh-day Adventist Church is located at Sibagat, Agusan del Sur and it belongs to Ampayon-Padiay District of Northeastern Mindanao Mission.  There are 3 different routes to Sitio Kahayag, but I haven’t tried the other two. I took what I consider as route 1.  From Butuan City to Butuan-Pianing Tandag Road, then to Padiay, Sibagat, Agusan del Sur and to Kahayag, Sibagat, Agusan del Sur.  In order to pass this road, you need to have a trail-motorcycle or motorcycle built for mountain roads.  What I have is a RUSI KR-mini max 110 which is called by my daughter Happy.

Trip to Kahayag SDA Church

On June 17, 2016 Friday, I started my trip at 3:30pm and arrived Padiay SDA Church at around 5:20pm and spend my vesper worship with the brethren of the Church.  It rained that night and I am scared because the road to Kahayag will be more challenging especially with those rivers.

7:00am

Happy is ready together with other 5 motorbikes that will challenge the muddy road and challenging trail.  Happy has some problem with the engine but I prayed that God will help us reach Kahayag to worship with the Seventh-day Adventists there.

The road itself is very challenging.  I tried very hard with my limited skills in trail-biking and it is really a tiresome trip.  But looking at the Adventist people who are very eager to worship with us revive me physically and boost my energy spiritually.

This church has unfinished walls and roof but they didn’t stop the members from worshipping God on the Sabbath Day.

I went there physically tired, but spiritually renewed because I see the life of Jesus being transpired from this people and their worship.  Looking forward for my next visit on a different route.
