Wash your Hands

Children show their clean hands

Simple things are easily taken for granted.  I noticed that some of my students hands are quite dirty and so I decided to revise my class for the day and include an activity to remind the students how important it is to always wash hands everyday.  With the help of the friendly teachers we were able to demonstrate to the students the proper way of washing their hands.

Teacher Lili demonstrating how to wash handsI started the activity by asking the students why we should was our hands and what are the things that might possibly happen by not washing hands.  I was surprise of the answers that the students give.  After that I ask them when should we wash our hands?

These are their answer:

    students wash their hands

  • before and after eating
  • before and after school
  • after an art activity
  • after using the bathroom
  • before going to bed
  • after waking up
  • after picking your nose
  • after visiting the hospital

After the question and answer activity we proceed to let the students demonstrate on how to wash their hands in front of the class then we went to the bathroom and wash our hands together.  It was a fun experience but above all it also reminds me not to forget to wash my hands.  Oh well, I gotta go wash first before I forgot.
