22 Were Baptized at Kahayag

November 29, 2019 by Meljoie Pepito Leave a Comment

“This is the time that I will serve and worship the Lord together with my family,” said Bro. Roberto Comcom.  For many years Bro. Roberto Comcom has been visited by the Adventists community but rejected the call of the Holy Spirit to join the Adventist Church.  After many years of praying, he decided to be baptized during the public evangelism campaign at Kahayag, Banag-banag, Sibagat, Agusan del Sur. This is a result of the work of the Adventists at Kahayag aided by the brethren of Panias Adventist Church as they visited, pray and give bible studies to the people.

Pr. Meljoie Pepito (Left) gives the instruction before the prayer.

The public evangelism campaign started on November 7 and ended on November 22, 2019.  The speaker of the campaign was Virgil Abundiente – a member of the Gospel Outreach ministries.  The Adventists youth did their part in offering songs early in the morning and invited the Bible Students for the sabbath services.

22 were baptized by Pr. Meljoie Pepito that day and was accepted as members of Kahayag Adventist Church.  The Adventists are very happy that the public evangelism was a success.

Trail Bikers line-up in preparation for Gift Giving

July 7, 2019 – The revving of the motorcycles excites the spectators of Brgy. Padiay, Agusan del Sur as more than 60 riders from different parts of Caraga Region who calls themselves ARMS-NEMM (Adventist Riders Ministry and Services of Northeastern Mindanao Mission) gathered at Padiay Adventist Church to participate a trail to the village of Bantolinao. This is the first activity of the group since it was organized by Pastor Nelo M. Seda Jr. – the present youth director of Northeastern Mindanao Mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

ARMS-NEMM together with the Students at Bantolinao Village

The trail was prepared by the Adventists Riders of Padiay Adventist Church which destination is a small village called Bantolinao where one of the SULADS teachers is assigned. The purpose of the ride is to give gifts that include pens and pencils, notebooks, crayons, scissors, and many other goodies to the students of Bantolinao Elementary School.

The riders are welcomed by the village people with the leadership of Hon. Brgy. Kagawad Joney Basao who are very happy to prepare the food for the hungry riders. The trail took about 6 to 8 hours to finished. It was a tiresome trip but it feels good to be a part of a ministry of “Touching Grounds, Touching Lives” – the life of the children of Bantolinao Elementary School.

As a recipient of the ARMS-NEMM trail ministry, I would like to extend my thanks to Pr. Nelo M. Seda – the organizer/sponsor of the event, to the Padiay Adventist Riders who prepared the trail and to the members of the club for extending your ministry to Ampayon-Padiay district. May God Bless you.

The Elders of Ampayon-Padiay District and the members of the Power of Seventy visited Bayabas Adventist Church, Brgy. Padiay, Sibagat, Agusan del Sur. It has been a practice of the district to hold an Elders’ meeting every second Sunday of the month and this schedule is hosted by Bayabas Adventist Church.

Bayabas Adventist Church is an organized company which has a membership of about fifty people. The elders of the district have seen the challenge and will hold public evangelism in October. The elders and members of the Power of Seventy will facilitate the preparation for the crusade and the elders will take turns in preaching the word of God. Let us help pray that the Lord will guide us as we share Jesus in this village.

Three Elementary Schools and two High schools benefited from the services rendered by the Adventist Community Service (ACS) volunteers this summer. This is a response to the program of the government called Brigada Eskwela where everyone is encouraged to help prepare the school before classes begin.

Chronological Bible Reading Plan

June 11, 2019 by Meljoie Pepito Leave a Comment

I found a very interesting Bible Reading Plan in the new Bible that I acquired. It is called Chronological Bible Reading Plan – it is a daily Bible reading guide that “follows the accepted order in which the recorded events occurred.” The Bible reading plan is intended for 365 days with a minimum of at least 15 minutes of reading every day.

I thought this is an interesting way to start another quest of reading the Bible. It is not the beginning of the year but I will do it anyway. I am trying to push myself to write about the verse or verses that inspire me on my reading. This would be a tough challenge but I know it is beneficial to me on being intentional in having a relationship with Jesus. I started to read Genesis 1-3 and I will be reading Genesis 4-7 tomorrow.

If you wanted to read with me, I will provide you a copy of the Chronological Bible Reading Plan that I will be using for this quest. Just leave your comment/s below and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
