Last May holiday (Labor Day), the godfather and godmother of our daughter Jaxy who became our second family here in China – tie the knots on a sacred ceremony of wedding.  It was attended by many of their friends and families and it was a very big celebration.  It was actually our first time to attend a wedding ceremony of a Chinese couple and we were so happy to be invited to the wedding celebration.

The Chinese way of getting married has many different practices.  I admired the way the groom has to go to the bride’s parents and ask their daughter’s hand.  To me it is a sign of respect.  After that, the couple are now ready to go their new house where the friends and family members of the groom are waiting.  Then it is followed by a big feast.

To us marriage is a very sacred part of life.  It is actually a symbol of taking another challenge, choosing the life time partner, being with each other for the rest of our lives.
