I was reading the readers digest’s “Right Here Right Now” talking about a classroom in the wilderness. The idea is to bring the children back to the nature where everyone can make their own toys and widened their imagination.
Although my heart says “that is the best classroom for learning” but my mind disagrees. Looking at the positive side I do agree that children learn a lot from nature. I was raised in the country side where we made our own toys out of the fruit of the trees, we made almost everything out of the things that we can see. We didn’t spent money to buy toys yet we had the best home made toy airplanes, cars, and every toys that we can imagined.
On the negative side, the teacher would have a hard time controlling the students outside the classroom. The ratio of teacher to students is important to make sure that every student is taking care of. So if there are 15 students in a classroom setting then it would be less than ten or maximum of ten in an outdoor setting.
As a father I would probably allow my daughter to go into this kind of school on the kindergarten level. It will help her develop the different skills fast.
What about you? Do you think this is good for kids on the kindergarten level? What are your thoughts?

i was still 5 when i entered grade 1. the school was in some remote area in Mindanao wherein they don’t require that you attend kindergarten. we played under the mango trees, the star apple trees, and the breadfruit trees. we played in the grass, in the mud, in the nearby creek and in dusty pathway. i had my share of bruises and mosquito bites. twas fun. but my grandma was so mad at me when she learned about our escapades.

Yeah. The same here. We did learn a lot from those moments. What do you think about putting those kinder students in a garden with a teacher and no textbooks. I will probably just free learning. What do you think about it?
I have to agree with you that nature is the best classroom. I remember my childhood years when I have to enjoy the mango trees in our backyard and the farm too. If given I chance, I would also love my would-be kids to experience such.
do you trust the teacher? do you trust your kid? ideally, the ratio should be 1 adult and 5 kindergarten kids in an outdoor. and there’s normally that parent’s prior approval. some parents send yayas or join the outdoor trip theirselves.
Those are some of the questions that parents need to consider before sending their children to this kind of school.
