Jaxith First Visit to the Philippines

Jaxy sa Tindahan

Last winter holiday Jaxy together with us was able to visit Philippines.  It was her first time to visit Cebu, met her grandparents on her mother side and her uncles and aunts and above her cousins.

We traveled with her to Butuan City and down to her hometown where she was able to ride a passenger motorcycle called “habal-habal.”  During our trip we found out that she loves dogs too.  She was introduced to my sister’s dog whom we called “tuy-tuy” or “sha-sha” and they become good friends.

Every morning she counts my brother’s fish only up to ten and sometimes help her mom feed the fish.

While in the Philippines Jaxy was able to go to her first Sabbath worship at “Humay-Humay Seventh-day Adventist Church” there she joined with other kids singing songs such as “God is love,”  and “Jesus loves me this I know.”

Now that we are back to our workplace she still misses her cousins and often calls them “Kuya.”  Thanks to the technology as Jaxy can still be able to connect with them through skype.

My husband and i were so glad to see the kids having a grand time with their lolo pico, but also felt a pang of sadness to see the recent look of their lolo. We even hardly recognized him in this shot ‘coz this is totally not him compared to the pictures taken during Jaxy’s mom & dad’s wedding years ago. But because of liver problem, it is very understandable that he physically deteriorated, in fact, less than a month after this picture was taken, their lolo pico passed away eventually. Jaxy was just very lucky to be able see & hold her lolo pico personally on his dying days. I just hope someday, it will make Jaxy somehow happy when she’s old enough to realize that a picture of her and lolo pico together was captured…as a loving memory…
